Cheap Airline Tickets – OOPS !
My cousin and his baby girl came to the mainland last month for a visit, and used their frequent flyer miles from Aloha Airlines. Cheap Airline Tickets! Yeah! Gotta love those frequent flyer miles! And then Aloha went belly up, chased out of business by some old style robber baron tactics from their competitors who sold tickets for $5.00 just to run them aground. Well it worked, and they are, now, run aground. What a shame, Aloha Airlines was the great little family run airline, great with on-time and hardly ever any lost luggage. Anyway back to my cousin and his baby girl, they could have dashed back to LAX and stood around on standby on a different airline, on the day they were originally ticked, but that offer only extended a few days after Aloha went down, and he didn’t have a reservation for several weeks. So he had to fork over about $700. and got himself and his baby girl home again on cheap airline tickets he bought through Priceline so it all worked out ok in the end. This is a lot of hassle and stress to go through. He got home ok with his luggage too, and that’s always a plus… My heart goes out to all those people stranded by Aloha and more recently by American… Back to my original thoughts about travel. I like to think of it as an adventure, not fun. Once in awhile something fun might happen, about as often as it happens in everyday life, but if I just expect adventure, I’m always happy with the outcome. (Adventure is a neutral word, could be easy, could be tough!)
